The forge is lit
This is the first post from EldritchForge, an independent Brazilian studio that wants to make horror games you play together. We are starting with a game that already has almost everything in place: Mansion of the Damned.
What the Mansion is
You and up to three friends enter an abandoned mansion. The map does not exist yet: every room is a card someone places on the table, like in Saboteur. The rooms hold chests, traps, locked doors and pages from Cornelius Blackwood's diary. Somewhere, the Tenant sleeps. When it wakes, the game becomes an escape.
The Tenant changes from game to game: there are five creatures, and you only learn which one it is when it wakes. Each hunts in its own way and has a weak spot.
Where we are
The game is playable from start to finish, solo and in 2–4 player co-op, on the same PC or over the network. It has eleven investigators, four modes and a new puzzle every day. The art and sound are still placeholders made in code, and the final art is the next big step.
What comes next
- Test until it breaks. Bots playing thousands of games, bad networks on purpose and weak laptops.
- Online co-op without hassle. A room code, no router ports and no VPN.
- A free demo on itch.io and the in-development full version for anyone who wants to support us now.
